Privacy Policy
MTG Architect ("the app", "we", "us") is an unofficial, AI-powered rules assistant for Magic: The Gathering, operated by Event Horizon Learning. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and how you can delete it.
1. Information we collect
Account information
You need an account to use the app. Depending on how you sign in, we receive:
- Email and password: your email address and password. Passwords are stored by Google Firebase Authentication in hashed form; we never see or store your password.
- Sign in with Google: your name, email address, profile picture URL, and Google account identifier.
- Sign in with Facebook (Facebook Login): your name, email address, profile picture URL, and an
app-scoped Facebook user ID. We request only the
public_profileandemailpermissions. We do not access your friends list, posts, photos, or any other Facebook data, and we never post to Facebook on your behalf.
Firebase also records account metadata such as a unique user ID, when the account was created, the last sign-in time, and whether your email address is verified.
Questions you ask
The text of the questions you submit, and the answers generated for them.
Technical information
When your browser contacts the app, our hosting provider automatically records standard request logs: your IP address, browser type (user agent), the page or API address requested, the time, and the response status.
Browser storage
Firebase keeps you signed in by storing a session in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB). We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies.
2. How we use your information
- To create your account, sign you in, and verify your email address.
- To answer your rules and card questions.
- To keep the service secure and fair, for example by limiting how many questions each account can ask per minute.
- To operate, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability of the service.
We do not sell your personal information, show you ads, build advertising profiles, or use your information to train AI models.
3. Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers needed to run the app:

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users or the service.
4. How long we keep information
- Account information: until you delete your account (see below).
- Questions and answers: not saved to any database. A question and its answer are held in server memory for up to 5 minutes so identical questions can be answered faster; this copy is not linked to your account. Per-account request counters used for rate limiting are also kept only in memory.
- Request logs: automatically deleted after 30 days.
5. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account and personal data at any time, in any of these ways:
- In the app: sign in to MTG Architect, click Delete account next to your name at the top of the page, and confirm. Your account and its sign-in information are deleted immediately and cannot be recovered. For security you may be asked to sign in again first.
- If you signed in with Facebook: you can also remove MTG Architect from your Facebook account under Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites. This stops Facebook sharing data with the app; to delete the account itself, also use option 1 or 3.
- By email: email support@eventhorizonlearning.com from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my MTG Architect account". We will delete your account and confirm within 30 days.
Deleting your account removes your account information from Firebase. Questions are never stored against your account, and request logs are deleted automatically within 30 days.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, in the EEA, the UK, or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Children
MTG Architect is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
All traffic to the app is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and stored by Firebase Authentication, and access to our systems is limited to what is needed to run the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
9. Where information is processed
The app runs on Google Cloud in the United States, and our service providers may process information in other countries. Where required, those transfers are covered by the providers' standard data protection terms.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. For significant changes, we will show a notice in the app.
